Upgrade to 5.2.6

Post by kgoodarzi » Tue Sep 30, 2014 2:58 pm

Hi, I have a radiologist that upgraded her workstation from 5.2.5 to 5.2.6 because she had an issue with the workstation opening automatically by selecting the study. She did not select a clean install. The upgrade did not work. She tried it again, this time using the clean install option with the same result. We tried to uninstall it manually and received the following error:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'OPW’ installation.

She could have manually deleted the folder, she did not tell us that, but at this time it is a moot point. We tried to restore her system to 9/27/2014, but that failed as well. I am assuming that we may have to clean up some Registry entires, but don't know where to start. Has anyone encountered this or has a fix for it?

Best,

Hello -
If a system restore fails it is quite possible that there are problems with the OS in general. Windows typically saves the MSI cabinets for installers in %windir%\installer\ but it renames them. You can narrow down the search once in the directory by using a search similar to "authors: onepacs" or "subject: "OnePacs Desktop" " You could potentially try to point the uninstall to that file if found. You may also want to check that an antivirus program didn't mistakenly quarantine the MSI installer cabinet from this directory. If you have the original 5.2.5 installer (saved in the download folder), you could also potentially try a repair or install with that installer file first.
