Priority studies

Post by mmazon » Wed Oct 24, 2012 3:43 pm

Hi,
We have some facilities that can tell us that a exam is "urgent", "normal" or "priority". We consider all exams as normal, unless user set "stat" on the onepacs web.. This "stated" exams are the "priority", and we do the report in less time. Urgent exams, at this moment, are told us by the facility calling our cel number.
Is this the correct way ? Do you sugest any other procedures so i can manage studies with diferent priorities ? Is there a way to notify our radiologists that a study had a stat changed ? I saw i can configure the notify function, but if i configure it to tell me whan a study is "stat", i lost the ability to notify each study that comes. Can i set diferent notify actions based on folders or search tabs ? If so, i can set a search table to show me only stats studies ?

Is there another way to manage diferente priority studies ? Can i bill then diferently, based on stat or another flag ?

Thank you

Hi Mário,

I would recommend creating a Global Filter (Admin -> Global Filters) called "Stat" with the following advanced expression:

statStatus = 'true'

This filter will then be available to all of your users in the "Filters" panel on the worklist. You could then create a new worklist tab with the "Stat" filter selected. Remember to save your worklist layout.

Notifications can be enabled on each worklist tab. So you could enable notifications on the "Stat" tab and also on your other tabs.

It is not possible to differentiate billing fees based on stat status but you can export the stat status as a column using the data export feature. Within your spreadsheet application you could use the stat column to modify the fees.

Regards,

Justin

Yes as mentioned above I think the best way to notify about STATs in a manner different from regular studies is to set up multiple tabs on your worklist.

Configure one tab to show only STAT studies, and set that tab to notify in the manner you wish to be notified of STAT studies.

In other tab(s) you can set notifications specific to what studies show on those tabs.

Hope this helps let us know anything else we can do to help you set this up.

Hi... after several months, I've tried to make this new tab with stat filter. Although the tab seens ok, showing just STAT cases, Notification isn't working. At least, when i set a stat flag on a case that has already been sent, the notification email is not being sent.

Let me be more specific. I need a notification email to be triggered whenever a study Stat flag is set, no matter the study is a new or a old. Is this possible ?

Any tips ?

Best regards,

Hi Mário,

You can create a notification for stat cases either by incorporating a stat filter into your worklist or by limiting the notification to only stat cases (see attached screenshot). However, keep the following items in mind:

1) Case notifications are only sent once per study. So if the study you are using for testing was notified when it was received, it would not be re-sent when marked stat.

2) Case notifications are only sent for studies that were sent after the case notification configuration was enabled on your user account - and only for studies a maximum of one week old. So if you're marking old studies stat then they would not necessarily send a notification. This is to avoid users being overwhelmed with many notifications immediately upon enabling notifications.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Justin

When you say

1) Case notifications are only sent once per study. So if the study you are using for testing was notified when it was received, it would not be re-sent when marked stat.

you mean: for each user, right ? So, if I have a user with notification set to all incoming cases, and another user, with anoter e-mail, with a tab with a filter that shows only stat studies and a notification set for all new studies IN THIS TAB, this user will be notified, right ? I´m having trouble with this.
