installing previous version of the gateway

Post by hilario » Sat May 18, 2013 1:16 pm

Hello. Long time without being on this forum.. that mean everything was stable and no problem.
But today I had a problem with a gateway and had to re-format it.
re-install windows XP SP3
and then I downloaded the last versions for Gateway, Workstation
and tried to install them .. .unsuccessfully. I got an error with both WS, adn GW.
then I began to check the conditions and found:
- WS: You say I need 4 GB and recomended 8 GB
My PC only have 2 GB (it was enough to run before)
- with the GW I didn't find the minimum requirements but I suppose it also grow up.
Could you confirm the numbers, please?

Then my question:
- Can I install a GW on a 2 GB XP PC?
- if not I have to download the previous version and install it again. Can you tell me where do I have to download?

Regards and thank you for the help

Hilario,

We certainly could provide you with a previous version of the gateway if you wish. However, the specification requirements really haven't changed much. We're now recommending 4 g ram as over time studies tend to get larger and computers tend to get faster and memory cheaper, so right now 4 gb is about right for what we consider our minimum configuration recommendation. That said if you were having no issues with your transmission computer before, you really shouldnt have any issues now frankly.

Could you let us know the specific error you are getting? We can try to troubleshoot from there.

We wouldnt generally advise using an older version of the gateway software but if you really preferred to try that we could provide an installer if you let us know what version you were using before.

Best
John

I tried again uninstalling everything and deleting all the directories and only trying the gateway (this is the main need I have at this moment).
This time it progress a little more, I arrive to the point where I have to type the AE Title.
I type it and after I got the error screen I include.

I have teamviewer on this system if you need.

Hi Hilario,

Could you try the following?

1) Uninstall the Gateway
2) Uninstall PostgreSQL 8.3
3) Delete the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL directory
4) Delete the oppostgres Windows user account.
5) Reboot
6) Reinstall the Gateway

Thanks,

Justin

Hello Justin.

I get the same error message.
Any idea?

Is the version of windows you installed the exact same (installer, etc.) as you used last time? We're wondering if this is a spanish language system localization issue.

Well the version I am trying to install is the first time I install it on any system in Spain.
Now I remember there was a problem with spanish version and you generated a patch for it, but I thought now it was included in the new versions.

I am lost at this moment.
I there any way you access my system to check this?
or do you need any log?

Thank

Hilario,

We don't support or recommend older versions of the Gateway. However, you may want to check out this page:
