Gateway Remote Access

Hello OnePacs team!
Some customers are concerned that the OnePacs Gateway software might allow us to remotely access their servers. Is this remote access possible or is it just a one way road connection? What should I explain them?

Hi Rodrigo,
The Gateway is a one-way street up to the OnePacs server. It is intended to securely transfer studies from the site to the website. In order to gain access to the customer's servers, you would need other software like LogMeIn, TeamTrack, SSH, Remote Desktop, etc. The Gateway software is mainly a store-and-forward proxy to the OnePacs site and it does not give anyone access to servers on the network.

The Gateway connects to OnePacs over the internet on port 443 outbound and listens on the DICOM port (4104 by default) on the local network. Your customers are welcome to block any other connectivity to or from the Gateway server if they are concerned. That being said, we usually recommend some form of remote access for the OnePacs administrator in the event that there are issues on the gateway PC.

Absolutely groundless concern. However, they SHOULD give you remote access to the server, in most cases. They would need to install separate software for that, though, since the gateway software has no remote access functionality of any kind.
