I am new to One Pacs. I am running Merge Efilm as my primary dicom viewer/pacs system. Is it possible for me to create One pacs as a " remote device" in efilm ? would just like to be able to send directly from efilm to the one pacs web.. Or do I have to d/l the One Pacs workstation?

You may use other viewers if you would like. The study downloader/retriever is responsible for getting studies from the cloud and storing them to a viewer and is available as a separate download from the workstation or combined with the workstation. You can find more information here.

If you want to transmit from eFilm to the OnePacs system (cloud based PACS) then you would need to go through the Gateway software. The Gateway compresses and encrypts studies and uploads them to the OnePacs system so they can be retrieved from anywhere.

It is not possible for you to directly send studies to OnePacs web via DICOM from eFilm (or other viewers, PACS, etc.). This is because many DICOM systems do not support the security protocols required to send private health information over the network. The OP Workstation won't help in this regards either because that is a viewer - it is more concerned with fetching studies from OnePacs, rather than storing them to OnePacs.

In order to store studies to the server, you will to download and install the OnePacs Gateway software. Using this software, you can store studies to it from eFilm (or other systems) and it will send those studies up to the server with the proper encryption and security measures.

So, in summary.... OP Workstation is a viewer (an eFilm replacement/alternative) which is tightly integrated with the OnePacs web worklist. The OP Gateway is a secure proxy that can push studies into the OnePacs web worklist.

Depending on your needs, there is a third option - the Study Retriever. This will integrate the OnePacs worklist with your eFilm software, automatically downloading studies and pushing them to eFilm. Similar to the Workstation though, this is a one way street from the server to you. If you want to send studies *to* the server you will need the Gateway.

Did you mean to type "Gateway" instead of "Workstation"? If not, I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to do. The Workstation cannot send studies to the central OnePacs server. Rather, the Workstation downloads studies from the central server. Only the OnePacs Gateway and OnePacs web interface can transmit studies to the central server.

You mention that you were able to successfully transmit studies from eFilm to the OnePacs Gateway. If that's true then you should see those cases show up on your worklist. If they don't show up on your worklist, you likely encountered an error trying to transmit to the Gateway or the Gateway was unable to relay them for some reason. If you believe there was an error transmitting from the OnePacs Gateway you can send us the logs via the OnePacs messaging system.

Yes the gateway, I get confused because the icon reads "Workstation.". I may be thinking to much about this. In the study retriever, under the preference tab, what should my "local Gate way" config be?

I mean, what I see or send to the "workstation" locally, should be transmitted auto, to the web based worklist correct?

There is no icon for the gateway on the desktop. If you are seeing an icon that reads "Workstation" on your desktop, this means it's the workstation. Workstation = DICOM viewer. Gateway = software to transmit software to the OnePacs cloud.

What you send to "workstation" locally will NOT go to the web based worklist. What you send to the Gateway will, when ordinarily configured.

In the study retriever, in preferences, you only need to enter data for "Local gateway" if you would like your workstation to retrieve studies directly from your local gateway, rather than the OnePacs cloud. This can speed up transfer of studies if your workstation is on the same local network as the gateway. This setting is not related to transmitting studies to OnePacs.
