I am attempting to get onepacs system set up correctly as to be able to use gateway. in the past modality images have always been uploaded directly via the worklist. I have gotten Gateway set up and images will show up in the gateway system but will not cross over to the onepacs woklist. Through the AE Managment I have check conectivity and have received successfull echoes on our OPW, ONEPACS, and GATEWAY AE titles, however I am getting a fail on the Central Onepacs Server with the following failed echo message:

A-ASSOCIATE-RJ result=1 - rejected-permanent source=1 - service-user reason=3 - calling-AE-title-not-recognized

I would appreciate any input possible.

The AE title values you entered when you ran the installer needs to match exactly (case sensitive) what is defined in OnePacs (Admin -> Facilities).

If you need to change it you can either uninstall and reinstall or following the following instructions:

Thanks,

Justin

Yes the error message indicates that you didn't exactly type in the AE title that you were given correctly.

You should uninstall the gateway, check admin > facilities, copy EXACTLY letter for letter the AE title for your facility, and enter that precisely when installing the gateway. Thanks

Have attempted to change the AE title, did not work. Unistalled/reinstalled/rebooted and still have the same results. I am getting successfull pings, and can get images from local drive to Gateway in the workstation, but cannot get them to populate on the worklist. Our images are viewed off-site and the radiologists have complained about limitations of viewing our images. I believe they are viewing them via the small aplet viewer built into the worklist and not from the workstation which has better viewability.

We do strongly recommend using the desktop workstation viewer. Is there a reason why they are not doing that? They should be prompted to install it on logging into windows. If they have checked "don't notify me again", they can go to options > downloads and download the installer. The desktop workstation viewer is much superior to the applet viewer. The advantage of the applet viewer is that you don't have to go through a full installation of software in windows, so if you are at a machine you are not usually at and just need to pulll something up it can be convenient. But there's certainly no reason why someone who is viewing images regularly at a workstation should use that, rather than the OnePacs diagnostic workstation software. Have you enabled their accounts to download and use the software? Perhaps they have not been given permissions to do that.

As far as your attempts to send studies to the central servers, could you message convenient contact information to the account named "admin" through the onepacs messaging system? I will have someone contact you directly to try to arrange remote access to the machine to see what it is you are doing and why the studies aren't populating the worklist.

As is the reason I am working on getting the system configured correctly so that the radiologist can view images via the worksation as one views from home and the other from his office. I am aware that they can download the images to the workstation from the worklist and will be able to do so if we continue to upload images directly via the worklist has been the case in the past. However it takes an extremly long time to do so. This is to why I am attempting to get the gateway set up so we can send images faster. Thank you for your attemped assistance. I will follow up with the 'admin' contact to hopefully rectify my issues.

Was a pleasure speaking with you today.

To recap, the gateway machine you are using is directly connected to a scanner that scans in images. There is some local software on the machine that receives the images. My first suggestion would be to get the IT people who manage that to arrange for it to be able to transmit the images to our gateway software, on the same machine.

If the machine can be given a static IP address on the local network, which it currently doesnt have, you can arrange for other modalities to send directly to it.

Currently we are looking into having the OnePacs workstation import the studies locally then transmit them to the gateway. This could work but is a bit more trouble than the above solutions.

As mentioned on our phone call please arrange to have the Workstation software on the machine to the latest version as it is a quite old version, which could be the problem, and we will also review the logs we retrieved today. We can go from there. Have a good weekend.

Nice talking to you again.

To update things here, looking at the logs it seemed the workstation was set to use the same port for image transmission as the gateway software. I think someone changed this value on your end at some point, as we don't have it set to the same port by default. So the gateway was unable to receive studies on that port, since the workstation reserved that port # first.

What I did on the workstation was, go to tools > options > DICOM server and changed the port to 44104. This is the usual value. Now it transmits to the gateway properly and from there to OnePacs, as we verified. This should be a smoother and easier than the worklist upload method you were using previously, but still not 100% optimal. Would definitely suggest a more efficient transmission procedure such as by contacting the vendor of the digitization software and asking them to set up the gateway as a destination for the studies.

Cheers-

John
