Honestly, I havent heard of this before and the only reason I can think of for this is that your modality is sending the x-rays flipped the wrong way in the first place. Does this occur only with chest x-rays? Have you used any other viewers or viewed the images directly at the modality? I would imagine the techs must be digitizing the images in the wrong orientation in the first place. I have never heard of a reason why any images would be flipped. Can you double check the work flow process for this? Thanks

guess i will try to look into that, its just disappointing that this ability to manipulate the image is not available. I mean its a basic basic function...like window and leveling

Both the Java viewer and the OnePacs workstation have the ability to flip an image horizontally or vertically. I attached a screenshot of the buttons in the workstation.

But, like Tom said, if your images are captured with the wrong orientation, then you should fix it at the source.

KiniRadiology -

Each of the diagnostic viewers (The Java applet (web-based) viewer and the OnePacs Diagnostic Workstation) have the ability to flip images horizontally and vertically and rotate images.
