Uploading Outside Studies

What is the best way to upload outside studies? We tried using the Standard Uploader. That work flow is great and easy. However, it takes forever to upload one study, like 15 minutes for an XRay. I need to get this process down to like 2 - 3 minutes if possible. Is 15 minutes normal?
I have a gateway computer setup and I read in the documentation that it seems there is a way that I can send the study from the CD to the gateway for compression and upload. It looks like I also have to download the entire workstation in order to make this work, which is not the end of the world, but I really like how the Standard Upload.
Which method is the quickest, easiest?

Hi,
Assuming the studies are uncompressed there are a couple things that will make a considerable difference in your upload times.
1) In the upcoming 9.5.3 version of OnePacs we will automatically do jpeg lossless compression on any uncompressed studies uploaded via the standard (java based) uploader prior to uploading. This should drastically reduce your upload times. OnePacs 9.5.3 will be released within a couple weeks or so. I recommend waiting for this enhancement if you only upload a few cases a day.
FYI - As a temporary solution you could create a zip file containing all of the images and upload that. That will improve your upload times but is not ideal for workflow.
2) Yes, if you have a gateway on the local network it's possible to store from disk to the gateway. This allows for the most aggressive compression and also allows the actual uploading to occur asynchronously. We can provide scripts that will automatically read from a disk drive and send to your local gateway. It just requires the user to double-click on a desktop icon to initiate the transfer. Installing the workstation is not a requirement. I recommend implementing this solution if you upload several cases a day.
Regards,
Justin

Ok, great. I think if it is just a few weeks away, we will just wait to implement this. For now, I can have them open up the the CD's directly from the remote eye program, correct?

Yes, if you just want to view a study but don't want to upload to the central server then you can use RemotEye.
