Replace Main Report

Post by jacintor » Wed Mar 06, 2013 5:10 pm

Hello,

I had to make some changes to the original report. Once I saved it as a replacement of the original report, the report insists in showing the history with the first report. I have already removed the "addendum" from the template so it shouldn't show any historical reports on the final one. I am not sure why the system keeps showing historical reports below the main one. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Rodrigo

It seems like the system is not converting prior reports to addendum. That's why they are still showing up on the main report. Justin, any suggestions?

Ok. I just realized that when you check the box "replace main report", the system automatically adds to the bottom of the new report all prior reports. So before saving the new report you have to go back to the main text box and manually delete all prior reports the system has added.

Yes, the system copies the oid report into the report edit window for you, because usually people just want to make some changes or edits to the previous report. So this makes it more convenient. If you are truly writing an entirely new report, you can just select and delete the old report text before putting the new report in.

At this point, if you do not want the old report text to display, you can go ahead and again write another report marked "Replace original report", and delete the unwanted text from there, then save it again.

The old report texts are all saved for obvious reasons, and by default are displayed in small text below the original report as an addendum stating "The below is a previous version of the report for this study", etc.... As noted if you want to suppress this you can turn of display of addenda, but the system will still keep the information for a complete historical record.
